Sortly Documentation
How it works, what it costs, and what it will never do.
Quick start
Connect Google Drive, let the first scan finish, then open Review. Sortly proposes a destination for everything it is confident about; you accept or skip each one.
Connecting Google Drive
Sortly asks for read and write access to Drive. You can link more than one Google account — each appears in Settings under Connected drives, and unlinking keeps everything already indexed.
Credits & wallet
AI work costs credits: reading a document is 1, a photo 2, a chat message 2. Browsing, searching, approving and undoing are free. Every account starts with 500.
Scanning
The first scan indexes every file's metadata. It is checkpointed, so an interrupted scan resumes rather than starting over. Incremental syncs keep it current.
AI understanding
Enrichment reads the file itself — vision for images and video, extracted text for documents — and records a topic, a description, tags and a confidence score.
Plans and undo
Nothing moves without a plan. A plan lists every file, where it is going and how confident Sortly is. Applying it is one click; so is undoing it.
